Ekanga Dhara is a highly specialized and targeted therapy in Ayurveda. The term combines ‘Eka’ (single/one), ‘Anga’ (body part), and ‘Dhara’ (continuous stream or pouring). Unlike Sarvanga Dhara (pouring over the whole body, like Pizhichil), Ekanga Dhara focuses on gently and continuously pouring a stream of warm, medicated liquid (oil, herbal decoction, or milk) over a specific, localized area of the body.
This therapy is designed to provide intense, localized relief by pacifying aggravated Vata Dosha and reducing inflammation caused by Pitta Dosha in the targeted area. The sustained warmth and medicinal properties penetrate deep into the tissues, making it exceptionally effective for chronic pain, stiffness, and localized nerve disorders.
