Pizhichil is a relaxing and methodical procedure, performed as follows:
Preparation: The patient is made to lie down in a comfortable position. The Ayurvedic practitioner prepares the herbal oils, which are warmed to a specific temperature.
Application: The warm oil is poured continuously over the body in a rhythmic manner, while the therapist performs gentle massages to ensure the oil is absorbed effectively into the skin. The patient remains relaxed while the oils work their magic.
Duration: About 45 minutes to an hour.
Post-treatment Care: After the therapy, the patient may be advised to rest and hydrate, allowing the body to assimilate the benefits of the therapy.
